Preparation is everything

Great lawns are built from the ground up.

Before turf is ordered, we look at the existing surface, access, soil, lawn height, sunlight and visible water movement. That information determines how the ground should be prepared for a clean, even finish.

What shapes the quote

What shapes a turf installation quote.

Size matters, but the existing surface, access, final lawn height and turf choice also affect the work required.

  1. Current surface

Old turf, weeds, hard soil, rubble and building material affect clearing and preparation.

  2. Access route

Gate width, stairs, turns and the distance from the street affect how materials reach the lawn.

  3. Height and edges

Paths, thresholds, drains, decks and garden borders set the final lawn height.

  4. Turf and early care

The measured area, selected turf, delivery and first watering complete the plan.

FAQ

Questions before you enquire.

View all FAQs
What does a complete turf installation include?

The agreed work can include clearing the existing lawn or loose surface, preparing and levelling the soil, supplying and laying natural turf, watering it in and explaining the early care.

Can new turf be laid over the old lawn?

New turf needs even contact with prepared soil. Old turf, roots, weeds and unsuitable material are assessed so the new lawn is not simply laid over the failed surface.

How is the right turf selected?

Selection considers usable sunlight, regular foot traffic, watering, preferred upkeep and how the lawn will be used.

What information helps with a turf quote?

Include the suburb, approximate square metres, current surface, access, desired timing and photos that show the lawn area and any level or drainage concerns.
